Courtesy Shuttle Driver

If you can operate a golf cart, you can provide transportation services for visitors and employees around the hospital campus. You'll take them back and forth from the hospital, Providence Place and the medical building to the parking lots. Qualifications: Must enjoy customer service, have good communication skills and be detailed oriented. You'll need a valid driver's license and a good driving record and be willing to take a drug/alcohol test and undergo a driving record check. (The hospital's automobile insurance will cover volunteer drivers while performing the duties of driving the golf cart).

Emergency Room Angel

Serve as a liaison between patients, family, friends and the professional staff. Duties might include assisting emergency department staff to transport patients by wheelchair, helping registration clerks with admission records or running errands for staff and families. Qualifications: Must have excellent communication skills and stay calm during stressful situations. Other requirements are being flexible; mature and a self-starter.

Food Services Assistant

Visit patient floors to pick up menu cards and to assist patients in making menu selections. Qualifications: Must have excellent communications skills, good reading and writing skills and be able to walk distances.

Gift Shop Clerk

Sell merchandise to Gift Shop customers and assist in stocking shelves. You might also arrange showcases and internal displays and help take inventory. Qualifications: Good public relations skills, simple math record-keeping ability are required. Sales experience is beneficial.

Hospitality Cart/Volunteer Patient Visitor

Check in with the charge nurse on duty to see if there are any patients that should not be visited. Review room numbers and patient names on the wall chart to obtain necessary information before proceeding with visits. Make random or assigned visits to patients regarding their healing process. Immediately report any patient needs to the nursing staff or the Patient Representative. Allow a family member or visitor an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns. Use discretion in the amount of time you spend with a patient. After each patient visit leave the completed patient log at the clinical manager's office. Also leave a copy in the Hospital Patient Representative's office. Qualifications: Must Good customer service skills and a friendly personality. Positive attitude and flexibility in determining and meeting the patient's needs. Use good judgment in dealing with patient issues.

Intensive Care Waiting Room Assistant

Assist the ICU staff with the support of families of patients. Duties might include answering the phone, making coffee, keeping waiting area neat and orderly and performing clerical tasks. Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with people of different backgrounds and ages and stay calm in stressful situations. Clerical skills also required.

Lobby Information Desk and Information Desk Attendant (South Entrance)

Act as a goodwill ambassador for all visitors and patients at Providence. You'll handle patient information inquiries and help people with directions to different departments. Other tasks include helping with patient dismissals and delivering flowers and packages to patients. Qualifications: The ability to walk and transport patients by wheelchair and good public relations skills. Self-starters with outgoing personalities do best here.

Marketing and Communications Assistant

Assist Director and Coordinator with research for newsletter articles and press releases. Assist in the content creation of departmental brochures, fliers and other communications. Assist in the implementation of community events and marketing projects. Qualifications: Able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages. Able to perform clerical duties such as filing and recording keeping. Comfortable working with computers; knowledge and/or experience with department graphics software) or similar graphic software helpful. Must have an excellent command of the English language, grammar and spelling.

Nursing Unit Aide (floor and shift to vary)

Answer phones, call lights, bring patients water or water chips, stock supplies, keep forms stocked and replenished, assist patients with ordering their food and other office/clerical work as needed and requested. Qualifications: Have excellent communication and phone skills, sense of humor, able to empathize with patients, knowledge of simple office procedures and be able to sit for prolonged periods.

Patient Escort

Serve as a patient escort in the outpatient nursing area. You'll assist nursing unit staff with patient dismissals, help with paperwork and run errands for staff. Qualifications: Must be self-starter with an outgoing personality and an ability to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages. You should be physically able to transport patients by wheelchair and assist with patient escort by cart.

Performance Improvement

The purpose of this position is to greet and assist patients, visitors, and families by rounding and following up on how one's stay is going or could improve. Discharged phone calls and follow up on patients who are now home is also part of this position. This is a great position for an individual who wants to make sure a patient/visitor's stay at the hospital is satisfactory and to follow through until they are in the comfort of their own home.

Providence Place Patient Visitor

Provide volunteer patient visiting and/or a listening ear. Read or play games with the Residents when asked to do so. Escort the Residents outside if they are able and desire to do so. Enter into every room with a smile and be conscious of customer service. Create a welcoming spirit for the families and the staff. Qualifications: Able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages. Able to perform clerical duties such as filing and recording keeping. Able to understand graphics on computer relating to patients in recovery.

Radiology

Assist the receptionist at the front desk in Medical Imaging. Check in patients that come to the Medical Imaging Department. Fax reports to physicians when requested. Provide directions for patients as needed. Release images to patients when requested. Assist patients in the waiting rooms. Answer the telephone and direct calls. Assist the staff with scheduling procedures, scanning orders and other duties upon request. Qualifications: Basic clerical skills, good spelling and computer knowledge. Have good customer service skills and a friendly personality. Must be detail oriented, have good observation and communication skills and work in a diverse environment. Ability to work independently and as a team player with little supervision.

Registration/Admissions

The Registration waiting room receptionist serves as a liaison between recovery room personnel, the physician and the surgery patient's family by relating information from recovery to the family, and by identifying family members for the physician. Assists the outpatient clerks by greeting patients, and directing them to the registration desk(s). Qualifications: Able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages. Able to perform clerical duties such as filing and recording keeping. Able to understand graphics on computer relating to patients in recovery.

Surgery Waiting Room Receptionist

Relate information to surgery patients' families from recovery and identify family members for physicians. Qualifications: Must be able to communicate with persons of different backgrounds and ages, perform clerical duties such as filing and record-keeping and understand computer information relating to patients in recovery.
