Breast Cancer
Breast cancer affects one in eight women. It is the second most common
cause of cancer related death
in women. Studies prove early detection is a vital component in the successful
treatment of breast cancer.
The Providence Breast Center offers women a new technology for early detection
of breast cancer
called full field digital mammography. This new technology greatly enhances
the ability to detect breast cancers at earlier stages, and in less time
than previous methods. High technology plus a team of experienced technicians
help to make a pleasant experience for patients receiving a mammogram.
Digital mammography uses computers and specially designed digital detectors
to provide electronic images of the breast. These high-resolution images
are available on the technologist's monitor in a matter of seconds, shortening
time for your mammography visit.
It also reduces the need for retakes due to over or under exposure of film.
The Center has a state-of-the-art Stereotactic Breast Biopsy System. Quick, minimally-invasive biopsies help to enhance a patient's overall experience.
The Providence Breast Center provides:
- Digital mammography
- Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
- Ultrasound Guided Breast Biopsy
